Tiny cheap microscopes

Hopefully, this technology will make it to the classrooms soon, and without the typical corporate markup.

Why McCain will win

In no particular order...
  1. Bush beat the perfect candidate in 2004. McCain is stronger today than Bush was in 2004.
  2. Americans, at large, are not smart voters.
  3. The Republicans have Diebold machines in swing states.
  4. The economy is not bad enough.
  5. U. S. military deaths in the Middle East have been contained.
  6. Americans link McCain to lower gas prices. I have no idea why.
  7. Bush will attack Iran just before the elections and Obama will look weak on military issues compared to McCain.
  8. Obama is well educated and rich. Americans don't trust well educated people and we don't like the rich.
  9. Dems control Congress. Voters tend to swing in elections to balance the interests in the branches.
  10. Bush will surprise voters with a unplanned troop reduction just before the election.
  11. Obama is doomed if McCain picks Conde Rice as his VP.
  12. Karl Rove will help in shadowy ways. He's terribly good.
  13. Biden has made too many strong remarks against the President.
  14. The Republican machine is three times more effective at marketing a candidate's brand.

It's an occupation, not war.

This is exactly why our posters, slogans, signs, and commentary must not use the word, "war". A war can be won or lost. In this occupation, everyone loses. Everyone. If the "war on terrorism" is real, it is offensively in Afganistan and Pakistan. Defensively, it is here at home, at our poorly guarded borders. There's no war in Iraq, only an occupation. Nothing can be won in Iraq, except for sorrow and disgrace.
